Appointments and Fees
Carol Merle-Fishman, M.A., FAMI, LCAT, LMHC
       Counseling and Psychotherapy

I see clients by appointment only.  Fees vary for individual, group, couples/marital/family sessions, and session lengths may vary.  Payment is due at the time of your session.  Payment arrangements or reduced fee accommodations are negotiated on an individual basis, once we have met for an in-person consultation.  At the present time, I am not a provider on health insurance panels.  However, I am continually reassessing the current health care situation and the needs of my clients.  Most health insurance plans provide some form of out-of-network coverage, which will be specified under your behavioral health benefits.  Some insurance companies will cover a significant portion of your session fee, once an out-of-network deductible is met.

Working as an out-of-network provider allows me to offer the maximum confidentiality in our work together and avoid many of the potential complications involved in going directly through an insurance company.  As a consumer, you have a right to understand the implications of using insurance for counseling and psychotherapy and how this impacts your health care confidentiality.  I am happy to discuss any questions you may have about insurance coverage, at any time during our work together.   Upon request, I am happy to provide a monthly statement of your session fees, which can be used for insurance and/ or tax purposes.

Appointment times are reserved and dedicated exclusively for each client.  Therefore, I require at least 24 hours notice of your cancellation in order to be able to offer this time to others and help you avoid being charged for your session.  I use the time you leave your message of cancellation on my answering machine, or time of your e-mail message notifying me of cancellation, as the start time for your twenty-four hour cancellation window.
